Given the importance of work performance in the progress of the institution, the objective is to determine the relationship between stress and work performance in the workers of the General Directorate of Crafts- MINCETUR 2019. A quantitative approach was applied, a non-experimental design-transversal, correlational and non-probabilistic census sample of 80 workers. Data was collected through a survey with a 44-item questionnaire on the two study variables. The data are analyzed with contingency tables and statistical figures. It was found that 42 percent of the workers show poor job performance, of which 31.3 percent have a high level of work stress and 11.3 percent a medium level, denoting the close relationship between both variables. Of the 40 percent of workers who show a regular level of job performance, 33.8 percent have a medium level of job stress and 6.3 percent a low level. Workers who show adequate performance reach 17.5 percent with an efficient job performance, all have a low level of work stress. There is a high positive correlation between the study variables with a Spearman Rho coefficient of 0.862 and a significance level of 0.000, which is why it is concluded that there is a significant relationship between stress and job performance in the workers of the General Directorate of Crafts - MINCETUR 2019.
