The objective of this research work was to establish the relationship between the consumption of high-sugar ultra-processed foods and nutritional status in adolescents from a public educational institution, 2024. To do so, it considered a quantitative approach methodology, of a basic, non-experimental, cross-sectional type and of a descriptive-correlational scope. The sample consisted of 160 adolescents of both sexes. The self-developed questionnaire called the high-sugar ultra-processed food consumption frequency questionnaire was used, which was subjected to validity estimates through expert judgment and reliability. For its part, anthropometric measurements were taken to determine the nutritional status. Regarding the statistical analysis, the SPSS v.27 software and the Pearson Chi-square statistical test were considered to establish the relationship between the variables. According to the results, for the consumption of high-sugar ultra-processed foods, a higher prevalence of the middle level was found with 37.5%; while for the nutritional status, eutrophic predominated with 59.4%. It is concluded that there is a significant relationship between the variables studied with a p=0.010.
