The objective of this research work was carried out on the relationship that exists between emotional burnot and the commitment to the work of the teaching staff at the Breña campus of a particular university. The stratified sample was established by 97 General Studies teachers, who were selected with the table of random numbers. The research had a quantitative approach, it was basic, correlational in scope and a cross-sectional design. The instruments used for data collection were: the Teacher Burnout Scale, and the Commitment to Teaching Work Scale; those that were corroborated in content validity with the panel of experts and the Aiken validity coefficient, and in reliability with Cronbach's Alpha. Statistical analysis of the data was carried out with the Stanon scale and the Pearson correlation coefficient. The results found showed that the variable teacher emotional burnout had a high and significant inverse relationship with the commitment to the work of the teachers surveyed. In particular, it was found that the dimensions of cognitive commitment, emotional commitment, and social commitment with students and teachers of teacher work commitment presented correlations of similar magnitude and inverse direction with the emotional burnout of the teachers in the respective sample. The findings were statistically significant at a probability level of p<0.01.
