The objective of this research work was in the context of the study program implemented by the Minedu from 2016, the teaching process in the area of mathematics through competencies in Regular Basic Education, since it allows students to achieve mathematical knowledge to solve local problems within the context of the reality where they live. In recent years, there has been a stage of virtual education, due to the pandemic that has attacked the entire world, in these conditions it has been necessary to face a way of educating and teaching classes and receiving classes. In all this, the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) has been used. There is a need for Peruvian students to improve in the development of mathematical skills, a change in the mentality of teachers is required and they adapt to this new era and leave the traditional way of teaching. All this should force us to first train future citizens as human beings and then achieve the learning that teachers impart and they also self-taughtly improve their knowledge in all aspects. This work has managed to verify that the opinion of students on the use of GeoGebra as a technological tool and mathematical competence have a correlation of Rho = 0.940, which is a positive and very high relationship.
