The objective of this research work was to determine the levels of oral language proficiency of five-year-old students from San Juan de Lurigancho. The study is of a simple descriptive nature, the sample consisted of a group of 25 five-year-old students. For data collection, an evaluation scale designed specifically for this study was used, which was subjected to a review process by experts and subsequently validated for its reliability. The results obtained indicate that 20% of the children show a regression in oral language, which means that they have not reached a satisfactory level in terms of form, content and use of language within the expected time frame. In addition, 56% are placed in the "needs improvement" category, suggesting that they are in the process of adequately developing their communication skills, specifically in aspects such as phonology, morphology, syntax and pragmatics. On the other hand, 24% of the children have reached a level of oral language development considered normal for their age.
