This research is part of the Rio Santiago project in the Amazon Region, Peru, implemented by a non-governmental organization that develops cooperation and development projects through the use of ICT and a university research group with the need to understand how teachers of Regular Basic Education (EBR) at the secondary level perceive computer-supported collaborative learning (CSCL) in this geographical context, marked by cultural diversity, limited Internet connectivity and scarcity of technological resources. A qualitative methodology was used to understand the perspectives and experiences of 10 teachers. This methodology involved a detailed analysis of the context and exploration of the participants' views. The study was carried out following a descriptive phenomenological design, at a basic and substantive level. For data collection, a structured interview guide was used as a research tool. This is expected to produce new and valuable knowledge that will contribute to the advancement of this educational field. In the discussion, teachers conceive or understand collaborative learning as group work among students, mediated by technology, which presents certain benefits in its application in the classroom and challenges that hinder the effective implementation of CSCL, particularly in rural environments where the digital divide is still significant.
