The purpose of the study was to identify the association between burnout syndrome and job performance among healthcare personnel at a hospital in the city of Tingo María, Huánuco. A quantitative, correlational approach was used, with a non-experimental, cross-sectional design. Data were collected using the Burnout Inventory, adapted by Oyola in 2021, and the Job Performance Questionnaire, adapted by Geraldo in 2022, with a sample group of 209 healthcare specialists of both sexes from the hospital. Of these, 61.2% were female, and 38.8% were male. The results indicated a significant relationship between the two variables (rho = -0.16; p = 0.02 < 0.05). Emotional exhaustion showed a significant negative correlation with job performance (rho = -0.18; p = 0.01 < 0.05), while depersonalization and personal accomplishment did not show significant correlations with job performance (rho = -0.09; p = 0.15 > 0.05; and rho = 0.07; p = 0.28 > 0.05, respectively). It was concluded that the presence of clinical symptoms of burnout leads to a decrease in the quality of service provided by employees.
