This research develops a specific methodology for managing risks in the portfolio of an execution management in a construction company. It arises in response to the need to address a decrease in profit margin in recent years, attributed to poor risk management and the lack of a systematic approach. The proposed methodology was designed following an analysis of the issues in the construction sector, the specific challenges of the company, and its strategic objectives. This methodology follows the guidelines of the Project Management Institute (PMI), in accordance with its Standard for Risk Management in Portfolios, Programs, and Projects, as well as the Standard for Portfolio Management. The proposal included restructuring the management responsible area for project execution, redefining roles, and responsibilities, defining guidelines for portfolio design and prioritization aligned with the organization's strategic objectives, and establishing management procedures and indicators to evaluate the future performance of the methodology and suggest improvements. This research provides a specific and detailed approach to risk management in the portfolio of a construction company, offering a solid framework for informed decision-making for resource allocation, addressing threats, and capitalizing on opportunities, thus contributing to improving profit margins and the company's competitiveness.
