With the objective of determining concentrations of heavy and dangerous metals in the waters of the Moche River at the height of the Panamericana Norte bridge and in muscles of fish specimens, especially Oreochromis niloticus (tilapia) that grow in this ecosystem, and guide actions for environmental surveillance and preservation and minimize risks to consumer health. Three samples of surface water and tilapia muscle were taken in the lower basin of the Moche River, considering 100m upstream, at the height and 100m downstream of the Moche bridge. Those that were preserved and sent to the SGS-Lima for analysis with the Induced Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry (ICPMS) technique, 47 total and dissolved metals were determined Al 9.172mg/L, Ar 0.0838mg/L, Fe 15.9876 mg/L, Zn 0.5679mg/L, Cd 0.0027mg/L, Cr 0.0045mg/L, Pb 0.0225mg/L among others present in surface water. In fish muscles higher values of Fe and Aluminum with 13mg/L and 2.91mg/L respectively. It was determined that the concentration of dangerous and heavy metals in tilapia muscles were high in all the samples, so it is recommended to avoid their consumption to avoid risks to human health and greater surveillance throughout the basin.
