On this case of study, we can observe common problems that companies from the metalworking sector suffer, this sector it’s important because it helps positively to the PBI of the country according to Oficina General de Evaluación de Impacto y Estudios Económicos. On the other hand, according to INEI the metalworking companies in Perú suffer from low productivity due to bad operation and planning of their operational processes. This project helped to identify the main problem of the company, which is the low availability of the CNC machines. This problem generates a great number of unproductive hours and economic losses that seriously affect the dairy operation of the company. The design of the solution is based on the methodology of Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM), with the purpose of bringing a solution to the main problem. After the implementation of the RCM methodology, we could achieve an increase of the MTBF indicator by 7.2% and the reduction of the MTTR indicator by 63.8%. Also, there was an increase in the availability of the machines of 11%, which benefits the company with a lower cost on the process of maintenance and adequate maintenance of the CNC devices. Finally, the economic evaluation was positive due to a VAN of S/ 102,987 and a TIR of 62.98%, in this way it can be concluded that the implementation is viable.
