The main objective of this study was to determine the relationship between work stress and socio-occupational characteristics in health personnel who worked in the COVID-19 service of Loreto’s Regional Hospital. It is a study of nonexperimental design, descriptive of correlational and cross-sectional levels. The survey was used as a technique to obtain data on the socio-labor characteristics and the Maslach scale as an instrument to measure the level of work stress. The sample was selected through the non-probabilistic and intentional demonstration and was made up of 144 health personnel. The main results showed that job stress was related to socio-occupational characteristics, marital status, and length of service, with widowers and those who worked between 1 and 5 years showing the greatest job stress. The study concluded that the prevalence of work stress was moderate to high. In addition, socio-occupational characteristics are associated with work stress and one of its dimensions (emotional exhaustion).
