This research project aims to analyze the structural performance and cost-benefit of using high-strength grade 80 steel compared to conventional grade 60 steel in bridges. A comparative study of the physical and mechanical properties of both types of steel is carried out, focusing on their tensile strength capacity, behavior under static and dynamic loads, and durability. In addition, implementation costs are evaluated, including manufacturing, transportation, and installation, in order to determine whether grade 80 steel represents a more efficient and economical alternative in bridge infrastructure projects. The results are obtained through numerical analysis and data from previous research, given that the use of grade 80 steel, being an innovation in the local market, presents longer import times and logistics costs. The research concludes with recommendations on the technical and economic viability of using grade 80 steel in bridge construction, taking into account the geographic location and access to materials. The objective described in this professional proficiency work was to evaluate the influence of the use of high-strength grade 80 steel compared to conventional grade 60 steel, and its costs in the Zapatero district, Lamas province, in Peru.
