Currently, companies in the textile-garment sector are considered pillars in the development of Peru's economy due to their employment generation and significant contribution to GDP. However, they face important challenges, such as low efficiency in their processes, which results in high costs and monetary losses in a highly competitive market marked by the growing importation of Asian products at lower prices. The project is divided into four chapters, the first one refers to the background and the theoretical framework. In the second chapter, a diagnosis of the current situation of the company and the analysis of the causes in the shirt production line are made. The third chapter presents the need to increase the efficiency of the sewing process, for which an improvement proposal is developed, integrating the Standardized Work methodologies to reduce the reprocesses of the sewing process and the Autonomous Maintenance pillar to reduce the unproductive times related to machine failures, also the 5S is used as an auxiliary tool to guarantee the organization of the workstations. Finally, the fourth chapter shows the results obtained by means of a simulation in Arena software. As main results: the OEE indicator increases by approximately 12%, the efficiency in the shirt production line increases by 13.01% and the amount of reprocesses is reduced by 2910. Thus, the proposed solution model seeks to establish an approach applicable to other SMEs in the sector, to improve their processes and competitiveness.
