In recent years, planning methods in the construction industry have been constantly evolving. However, in Peru, there is not a good level of adoption of these new methods. Since inadequate planning is one of the main causes of economic losses in construction projects, there is a need to seek new alternatives to overcome this problem. In recent years, methods have been developed that optimize planning based on location systems, using methodologies such as Last Planner System (LPS), information control through the use of Building Information Modeling (BIM) models, and monitoring of what is planned. The advantages of adopting these three methodologies have been widely discussed in academic texts; however, they have not been widely applied in Peru. Thus, in the present research, a procedure was implemented, combining the three aforementioned methodologies, to improve planning in a multi-family building project in metropolitan Lima during the structural stage. To this end, a survey was first conducted with a group of expert professionals in order to diagnose the main causes of poor planning. Then, a procedure was developed applying the three aforementioned methods together, and then applied to a real case. As a result, a 25% increase was obtained in the percentage of scheduled activities completed during a week, and an increase in labor productivity was also obtained, increasing by 16% compared to the basic performance. Likewise, the schedule performance index (SPI) was calculated, which showed an improvement of 0.25. Likewise, to promote the dissemination of the procedure and its results, a virtual guide was developed. Finally, the results were validated using the expert judgment tool, obtaining an average acceptance level of 4 on the Likert scale.
