The main objective of the present research was to determine the relationship between the competency in information technology and communication and motivation in students of the Higher Divine Pedagogical Institute, 2018. The sample is random and was made up of 80 students, in which have been used the variable: Competency in ICT and Motivation have been used. The research carried out was a quantitative approach, of a basic type, correlational level, with a non-experimental, cross-sectional design, which collected the information when applying the instrument: Competency Questionnaire in ICT, which consisted of 40 questions in the dichotomous scale (yes and no), and the Motivation Questionnaire, which was constituted by 20 questions on the Likert scale (always, almost always, sometimes, almost never, never), through the evaluation of its different dimensions , whose results are presented graphically and textually. The research concludes that competency in Information Technology and Communication are significantly related to motivation in students of the Higher Divine Pedagogical Institute, 2018. Interaction with technologies contributes to the development of their skills and leads to the motivation of student, this process favors the development of cognitive processes, interest, commitment, responsibility, among others.
