The objective of this research work is to determine the influence of the educational software “PhysioEx 8.0XY – Laboratory Simulations” on the acquisition of knowledge about Animal Physiology in second year students of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of the Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos regarding to the traditional methodology, 2021, in a context of the Covid-19 pandemic. The research adopted a quantitative and applied approach, with a quasi-experimental design. We worked with a population of 80 students, intentionally selecting 60 of them to be part of the sample. This sample was divided into two groups: experimental and control. To collect data in this research, the educational evaluation technique was used; This technique consisted of the use of three evaluation tools, applied in two different phases, known as pretest and posttest. These instruments, referred to as pedagogical tests or performance tests, were validated by experts, who gave them excellent content validity to measure the acquisition of knowledge in animal physiology. Furthermore, the reliability of these tests was also rated as excellent, determined by the Kuder Richardson 20 coefficient, which registered a value of 0.828. Based on the results obtained and a confidence level of 95%, the research concluded that: the educational software “PhysioEx 8.0 - Laboratory Simulations” influences the acquisition of knowledge about animal physiology in second-year students of the Faculty of Medicine. Veterinary Medicine of the Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos, regarding the traditional methodology, 2021, with p = 0.000.
