The present thesis outlines the design of a procedure for the digitization of roadworks control processes, monitoring works such as roads that apply the earned value method and are using mobile applications that are free. The case study focuses on the project "Management, improvement, and road conservation service based on service levels for the road corridor: Cutervo - Socota - San Andres - Santo Tomas - Pimpingos – Cuyca," (Ministerio de Transporte y Comunicaciones [MTC], 2023, párr. 1) which is part of general road construction projects. The main motivation arises from the need to address the significant volume of documentation generated daily in road construction projects, resulting in a substantial paper burden and organizational disarray. This issue not only impacts operational efficiency but also has environmental implications due to the extensive paper consumption for each control report In addition to streamlining document management, the proposed procedure tackles the issue of physical contact in document signing, particularly relevant in the context of the ongoing threat of COVID-19. The digitization of these processes not only enhances operational efficiency but also contributes to the health and safety of individuals involved in the project by minimizing the physical exchange of documents. In summary, the thesis suggests an innovative solution to enhance efficiency, reduce environmental impact, and promote health in road construction projects by implementing a digitization procedure supported by the earned value methodology and free mobile applications.
