The main beneficiary of this case study is the partners of the shopping center "Los Nísperos" - San Martin de Porres - Lima - Peru. This project presents the need for an integral structural reinforcement, due to the alterations of the structure that entails the increase of typical plants. Faced with this new scenario arises the need for the strengthening of the building. On the one hand, the superficial foundations, shaped in this work by insulated and running shoes, need reinforcement to support the new requirements and efficiently respond to the amplified loads. Therefore, alternatives for reinforcement of superficial foundations are proposed: conventional and non-conventional. To do this, it is proposed to develop a proposal for structural reinforcement of a reinforced concrete building for commercial center, formulating two types of reinforcement in the foundation for a comparative analysis of structural capacity, execution time, cost of reinforcement, construction complexity and qualification of manpower. We consider micropiles as one of the proposals for reinforcement of surface foundations, they are structural elements that transfer the actions to the ground and can have bearing elements to directly or indirectly transfer loads and limit deformations. This system can be applied as: isolated micropiles, micropile groups, micropile lattices and micropile screens. On the other hand, the reinforcement by widening of shoes, consists of widening or extending the shoe to increase the contact surface with the ground. If possible the edge is also increased above the shoe, since it is not recommended that the new shoe has a song too small in relation to its height.
