ABSTRACT The present research project was developed in the city of Trujillo in the laboratory of the Universidad Privada del Norte, the influence of the Sika Viscocrete 3330 additive was determined in the property of resistance to compression and in the properties of a self compacting concrete for vertical elements using the ACI 237R method in the mix design, tests were carried out according to the Peruvian technical standards (NTP) for the characterization of the aggregates and to evaluate that a self-compacting concrete meets the self-compacting requirements, the UNE and ASTM standards were used as well as for the compressive strength the NTP was used, in addition the concrete was tested in a glass mold in order to verify the behavior of the self-compacting concrete and its surface finish, whose data were collected in validated observation guides. The present investigation is of experimental type, because by means of the manipulation of the variable the independent one, the additive Sika Viscocrete 3330, the influence that it generates on the dependent variable will be determined: the resistance to the compression and the properties of autocompactabilidad of the concrete, as soon as the design of the research is pure experimental, since it is possible to control and limit the variations of the additive. It was concluded that the resistance to compression was influenced positively at ages of 7, 14 and 28 days with respect to the standards, in addition in the tests for a self-compacting concrete, the compactibility characteristics were improved and the optimum quantity of additive of 1.1% that approved all the tests, although it was also verified that if too much additive is added, a good performance in the concrete is not obtained.
