To determine if the national early warning score 2 has value in the prediction of in-hospital mortality in patients with SARS-CoV-2 pneumonia Material and methods: A sectional retrospective study of diagnostic tests was carried out in which 148 patients with COVID 19 were included, according to selection criteria, which were divided into 2 groups: deceased or survivors; calculating the area under the curve of the markers. Results: The mean age and frequency of male sex, hyperlactatemia and hyperglycemia were significantly higher in the group of deceased patients than in that of survivors (p <0.05). The sensitivity and specificity of the national early warning score 2 in predicting mortality in patients with SARS-CoV-2 pneumonia was 83% and 79%, respectively. The positive and negative predictive value of the national early warning scoreI in predicting mortality in patients with SARS-CoV 2 pneumonia was 56% and 94%, respectively. The prognostic accuracy of the national early warning score 2 in predicting mortality in patients with SARS CoV-2 pneumonia was 84%, with 7 being the best cut-off point on the scale. Conclusion: The national early warning score 2 has value in the prediction of in hospital mortality in patients with SARS-CoV-2 pneumonia
