TITLE: "Prevalence of black extrinsic pigmentations in children with deciduous dentition of the Initial Educational Institution 253- La Noria, Trujillo 2018" OBJECTIVE: To determine the prevalence of black extrinsic pigmentations in children with deciduous dentition enrolled in the Initial Educational Institution 253- La Noria, Trujillo 2018. METHODOLOGY: Descriptive, cross-sectional and observational study. MATERIAL AND METHOD: The population under study consisted of 157 children, 85 female and 72 male, aged between 3 and 5 years, who met the selection criteria. To determine the prevalence of black extrinsic pigmentations in deciduous teeth, the Gasparetto Classification was used, and for the analysis of the information, one and double entry tables were constructed, with their absolute and relative values as well as graphs. RESULTS: The data obtained at the end of the study showed that the prevalence of black extrinsic pigmentations in children with deciduous dentition of the Initial Educational Institution 253- La Noria, Trujillo 2018 is 12.1%. CONCLUSIONS: A low prevalence of black extrinsic pigmentations was found in children with deciduous dentition, not establishing a statistically significant difference according to gender and age group. Regarding severity, it was determined that type 3 of Gasparetto is the most prevalent
