To evaluate the environmental effect on growth, development and mini-tuber production of a diverse group of potato genotypes grown under aeroponic system, an experiment was carried out in greenhouses located at CIP’s experimental stations in La Molina (Lima) and Santa Ana (Huancayo). Five separate campaigns (environments) were set from August 2008 to February 2010. A Combined Variance Analysis was performed for agronomics traits of the growth and crop development and an AMMI for the production variables. There was a high variation in all the responses to the treatments. The tuberization days were influenced by genetic responses, temperature and greenhouse PAR intensity. The increases in the vegetative cycle for all genotypes and in the plant height in the Costa warm environments were recorded. The AMMI analysis showed that for the yield and the number of tubers per plant, the variation was related mainly to the genotypic effect followed by the interaction of genotype by environment. Venturana cultivar (T2) was the best genotype with a yield of 644 g per plant, while Chucmarina cultivar (T1) was the best in number of tubers with 60.17 tubers per plant, showing a high stability across the essayed environments. In contrast, the advanced clones T3 (395,434.1), T5 (397,077.16) and T6 (397,073.16) showed stability in the environments, but their yield and number of mini-tubers per plant, were below the overall average of the trial. The results showed a wide variation in the variables responses, mainly due to the genotype and the environment where the crop was grown
