The highest magnitude earthquakes (> 6.0 Mw) have occurred throughout history in the Ring of Fire; consequently, the implementation of contingency plans and Earthquake Early Warning Systems are two of the most effective tools developed in recent years to prevent and minimize the damage caused by earthquakes in Latin America; additionally, these tools are implemented to a greater extent for the Peruvian industrial sector. Likewise, industrial plants are in need of implementing automation projects; thus, increase the effectiveness of their production lines. For this reason, the implementation of control systems is increasingly necessary to be competitive and optimize companies' resources. In this context, the Security Instrumented System is necessary as a complement in the execution of these kind of projects and their aim is to control the existing risks in the processes. The present research work incorporates the risk management tools, the use of industrial technology; through the integration of Earthquake Early Warning Systems (EEWS) and Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS), with the aim of controlling the risks triggered by earthquakes in chemical plants in Peru.
