emplear gasohol 84 octanos (CO = 0.98% Vol.; CO2 = 6.21% Vol.; CxHy = 123 ppm).

Note: The present research work, was studied the influence of mixtures of gasohol 84 – EFTABS
in the economy of engine KOHLER MAGNUM M8, when being subject to tests of speed
and load, executed in the experimental test bench MEC ENERG 5196 UNT.
The most important results obtained after this experimentation were:
• It was found that when the engine works with mixtures of gasohol 84 – EFTABS
reaches a maximum economy of 2.83% (ge = 449.55 g/kWh) in comparison with the
use of gasohol 84 (ge = 462.66 g/kWh) in the speed regime of 3600 rpm
corresponding to the maximum power of the engine.
• From the assay, it was determined that the optimum composition of the mixtures was
α = 0.92, which is given in the regime of the minimum specific fuel consumption (ge
min = 339.33 g/kWh), i.e. @ 2200 rpm, working the engine at full load.
• With respect to the ecological working parameters, it was observed that the engine
when working with gasohol 84-EFTABS mixtures decreases the toxicity of the
exhaust gases of the engine (CO = 0.78% Vol.; CO2 = 4.56% Vol.; CxHy = 91 ppm)
in the range of speeds of 2800 @ 3600 rpm, with respect to the work of the engine
when employing gasohol 84 Octane (CO = 0.98% Vol.; CO2 = 6.21% Vol.; CxHy =
123 ppm).
