The aim of this research was to expose the antibacterial effect of ozonized water at concentrations of 0.4 g/L and 0.8g/L, on the strains of Aggregatibacter Actinomycetemcomitans ATCC 29522, which is one of the main causes of periodontal disease. In order to demonstrate its effectiveness, we found it necessary to carry out an IN VITRO study within a suitable and controlled environment, on this occasion, the microbiology laboratory of the Andean University of Cusco (Universidad Andina del Cusco). The sample was comprised of 6 Petri plates, 10 screw cap test tubes and 32 quartz cuvettes; all were inoculated with the aforementioned strain. Two different cultivation methods were used for its inoculation: Müller Hinton Agar (solid medium) and BHI culture broth (liquid medium). In order to determine the moment in which the application of ozonated water would be made, it was essential to carry out its growth curve, for which 10 quartz cuvettes were used in which there was a liquid culture medium plus inoculum of the strain, which were taken to continuous incubation at 350 centigrade to be able to be read in a spectrophotometer at 550 nm every hour and thus have the notion of their development over the hours. Once the moment of application of the ozonated water was defined, the experiment was carried out, for which a division of two groups of 11 cuvettes was made, one for each concentration of ozonated water, 2 blank, 7 samples and 2 controls. positives; To be read within 1 hour for 6 hours. Which yielded readings with an average decrease in absorbance of 0.010, having as the greatest difference that the H2O3 of 0.8g/l was extremely deadly for the strain and with the H2O3 of 0.4g/L where although there was a decrease in the strain then it presented development, although not very significant and anomalous with respect to the growth curve.
