The thesis research entitled "Effect of industrial chestnut and xanthan residue on the physical, mechanical, impermeability and plasticity properties for the stabilization of a silty soil in the subgrade of the Jr. El Triunfo, Las Piedras, 2023" is focused on determining the cause and effect of incorporating industrial waste and xanthan into silty soils in the laboratory and looking for a significant change in their properties. The sequence of the realization and evaluation was the exploration of two open pit wells and the extraction of altered samples, which will be tested in the laboratory to determine their classification within the types of soils, their dry density, cohesion, capillary ascension and plasticity, according to the parameters and regulations that govern them – ASTM, UNE, Materials Testing Manual. Chestnut shell microfiber was tested as a by-product of the chestnut industrial waste, and xanthan in different dosages according to a four-point factorial design with a sample and two replicas of which nineteen "recipes" resulted. This research is governed by a quantitative approach of a causal explanatory level for a hypothetical deductive method, from which it is possible to confirm the hypothesis that the microfiber of chestnut shell has a significant increase through experimentation with a moderate number of variables described above. Likewise, the data processing was determined with ANOVA variable analysis that allowed to establish the correlation of variables, regression of variables, equations, mathematical models and conditional formulas that established more accurate statistical results.
