The purpose of this study is to determine the level of knowledge associated with risk factors for hypertension in patients treated in the cardiology office of two Hospitals in Iquitos 2023, whose design was quantitative, non-experimental, descriptive, applicative, transversal, correlational and prospective. The sample consisted of 380 patients from the two Cardiology offices of the two hospitals in Iquitos. The technique used was the survey, the instruments were two questionnaires. An instrument validity of 0.89% was obtained, which indicates good validity and agreement, and an instrument reliability of 0.84, according to Cronbach's Alpha coefficient. The conclusions in relation to the personal data of the patients in the study, the highest percentage was female, ages between 43 to 67 years, average weight of 67.35 kg, average height 1.57 meters, average BMI was 27.45, with secondary education and of urban origin, regarding the Independent variable Knowledge about hypertension, of 100% of the patients, 70.0% have medium knowledge, 21.8% have high knowledge and 8.2% have low knowledge. Regarding the Dependent variable Risk factors, it was obtained that of 380 patients surveyed, 100% of their risk factor for Hypertension is positive. And regarding the relationship between the two variables, it can be seen that the p-value of the variables level of knowledge and risk factors for Hypertension was less than α = 0.05, which represents the assumed level of significance. Therefore, we conclude by accepting the alternative hypothesis, which says “there is a statistically significant relationship between the level of knowledge and the risk factors for hypertension in patients treated in the cardiology clinic of two Hospitals in Iquitos 2023.
