Currently, road safety is a crucial factor in reducing accidents and strengthening a country's economy. Road inspections play a fundamental role in assessing, analyzing, preventing, and proposing solutions to reduce traffic incidents. This research addresses the issues that motivate its study, examining the challenges and obstacles in a specific road environment. The need to intervene to improve road safety at the intersection of Av. Dos de Octubre and Av. Próceres de Huandoy is highlighted. The theoretical framework provides a solid foundation for the analysis of the intersection by exploring relevant theories and concepts in road engineering and traffic management. The methodology used is detailed, including approaches and techniques such as HCM (2010) and MSV for collecting and analyzing data, using quantitative and qualitative methods. A specific case study of an intersection is presented, starting with a diagnosis of the current state that addresses the location, road characteristics (geometric design, signage, road surface, etc.), and aspects related to traffic management, such as speed limits, analysis of the traffic signal cycle, level of service, and congestion using HCM 2010. Subsequently, a Road Safety Evaluation (RSE) is carried out, which is based on international checklists, complementing MSV (2017) for the Peruvian context. Finally, three proposed solutions are presented, including improvements in the level of service through the modification of factors and traffic signalization, a road signage plan, and a pedestrian awareness plan.
