This work proposes the elaboration of the guidelines to be adopted for a proposal to improve the maintenance and control of bridges for an adequate service during their useful life through technical inspections and the regulations in force in the Panamericana Sur de Ica, in order to preserve or repair the structure to achieve good operation and serviceability to users. In Chapter 1, the theoretical framework is presented where the collection of antecedents, previous investigations and theoretical considerations on which the research project is based is presented. In chapter 2, the methodology is presented, the research is descriptive since it involves observing and describing the actual existing condition of the bridge, requiring an inspection program that must be carried out in an organized manner. The research design of the work is documentary since plans, files, etc will be used; and it is from the field since the data collection of the bridges in Ica will be carried out in order to know the real conditions of each bridge for its investigation. In chapter 3, the development is presented, it begins with a general inspection of all the existing bridges in the Pan-American Highway, then a detailed inspection of the bridges in the sample (Huamaní, Canyar and Cañapay), they are the isostatic reinforced concrete bridges. with more years of antiquity, designed with an overload HS-15 and HS-20. Likewise, it is essential to have a damage catalog that allows establishing a general criterion for identifying the defects of each element of the structure, a catalog was made for the sample. Finally, a maintenance proposal is proposed for the elements of the bridge structure so that they can be attended to as soon as possible and in order to guarantee the bridge's service, a control is proposed in order to ensure that it fulfills its useful life at which it was designed.
