The present research work aimed to determine to what extent the addition of cassava starch influences the physical-mechanical properties per unit, pile and wall of concrete blocks, the type of research was applied, the level of research was explanatory, the design was quasi-experimental, the population consisted of concrete blocks made with and without cassava starch for the district of Carabayllo, Lima and the sample was non-random, using 180 samples divided into unit, pile and walls. The procedure was divided into stages: obtaining starch, characterization of materials, mixing design, block elaboration and tests. The main results were: The addition of 15% cassava starch was the best performer in improving axial compressive strength in unit and axial/diagonal compression in stack and wall, in terms of workability, this decreases; But, this does not prevent molding the blocks, the temperature is positively affected. Finally, it is concluded that the influence of the addition of cassava improved the physical-mechanical properties per unit, pile and wall of concrete blocks, so it is recommended to use concrete blocks with the addition of starch to 5%, 10% and 15% according to the required resistance.
