The purpose of the research work is to determine the relationship between the knowledge and application of biosafety standards in Human Medicine students of the V cycle of the Universidad Andina del Cusco - 2019. The study has a quantitative approach, with a non- experimental design and a correlational-transversal descriptive scope. The study sample consisted of 67 students from the V cycle of the academic semester 2019-II. As instruments, a questionnaire and an observation guide were used, validation having been carried out through expert judgment. In the present research, the largest number of students was female, with 73% participation and the age group of 18 to 23 years old stood out with 70%. Regarding the knowledge of biosafety standards in Human Medicine students of the V cycle, it has been shown that they know hand washing in 62%, protection barriers in 77% and waste disposal management in 85 %. Regarding the application of biosafety standards in Human Medicine students of the V cycle, it has been identified that they correctly apply hand washing in 71%, protection barriers in 75% and waste disposal management in 86%. It is concluded that according to the Chi square test there is a significant positive relationship of 62.3% between the dimensions of knowledge and the dimensions of the application of the Biosafety Standards, with a behavior that in a large percentage ranges from Regular, with 30%, towards Good, 16%, and according to Kendall's Tau b test at 95% confidence it shows that the greater the knowledge of the Biosafety Standards, the better the application of the Biosafety Standards (p-Value = 0.000), with a Good Level of 62.3%.
