This project arises as a need of the company in the Retails category, currently performing automated tests has become a trend for software development that allows optimizing test execution times and having a wide coverage of scenarios, where Currently it is being carried out manually, which generate overstrain, late error detection by the quality resource. The objective of this Thesis is to automate the functional tests of a web application to improve the Software Quality area in a company in the Retails category, using different Open Source and Selenium tools, which is the framework for automation in web applications. This will allow to quantify the effort that is expended in each resource, when the tests are carried out manually and compare it with the automated tests. The agile methodology used in this Project is a Scrum Framework, which consists of 5 sprints, for which it covers the development of the automation of functional tests and software regression. This automation would result in improving the image and services of the company through greater quality assurance of its web applications, it is known that a system is always prone to errors, defects or problems, but with the different tests carried out by the area software quality control, risk is reduced. In short, functional test automation contributes to optimizing test execution times and having greater coverage of test scenarios.
