The research entitled “RISK FACTORS ASSOCIATED WITH ACUTE RESPIRATORY INFECTIONS IN CHILDREN UNDER FIVE YEARS HOSPITALIZED IN THE PEDIATRIC B SERVICE OF THE REGIONAL HOSPITAL OF CUSCO, 2018“ “aimed to determine the risk factors associated with respiratory infections Acute in children under five years hospitalized in the Pediatrics B service of the Regional Hospital of Cusco, 2018. The study was correlational, prospective and cross-sectional, the population consisted of 54 children under 5 years of age hospitalized in Pediatrics B, the structured interview technique and observation were used. The conclusions within the general characteristics were 53.7% of the children are between 2 to 11 months of age, 51.9% of the children represent the female sex and 48.1%, 40.7% of the children the families of children under 5 years of age come from rural areas, 48.1% of families of children under 5 have a monthly income of S / .800 - S /.1,000. In biological factor, 37.0% of children under 5 years of age were hospitalized for bronchitis, 29.6% of children under 5 years of age had a higher- than-normal axillary temperature, 51.9% of children under 5 had a birth weight of 2500 to 4000 grams, 50.0% of children under 5 had exclusive breastfeeding, and 46.3% of children under 5 had malnutrition. Within the environmental factor 74.1% of children under 5 years if they share their room, 63% of families of children under 5 years use the public network as a source of water supply, 35.2% of families of children under 5 have cats at home as a pet.
