This study analyzes the psychometric properties of the Scale of Academic Preparedness for Higher Education (EPAES) by Baeza-Rivera, Antivilo and Rehbein (2016). The sample consisted of 646 university students from Metropolitan Lima (48.14 % women and 51.86 % men) between 18 and 25 years old. For convergent validity, the EAPESA validated by Domínguez, Villegas, Yauri, Mattos and Ramírez (2012) was used. The CFA results corroborated a structure of five factors (CFI = .94; TLI = .94; RMSEA = 0.063; SRMR = .060; WRMR = 1.79): personal self-determination (ω = .92), sociability (ω = .84), academic self-efficacy (ω = .90), analytical anticipation (ω = .84) and academic prospective (ω = .86); obtaining high factorial loads (> .30). Likewise, the expected correlations between EAPESA and the five dimensions of EPAES (r > .20) were found. In conclusion, the EPAES has empirical evidence of validity and reliability to be applied in research and interventions to university students in Metropolitan Lima.
