The objective of this research work is to know how institutional policies contribute to scientific production, from the perspective of teachers of the humanities area of a private university in Lima, during the period 2021-I. The participants were 8 undergraduate teachers and 7 graduate teachers of the area in question. The methodology used developed the qualitative approach, explanatory scope and phenomenological design. The technique used for data collection was observation and in-depth interview; likewise, the semi-structured interview question guide was used as an instrument. The results obtained showed that, in general, the participants sense that the university promotes research through training and lectures, contributing to strengthen their research competencies, but these training measures are scarce; it is appreciated that training promotes the interest and participation of teachers in introducing themselves to research; at the same time, it is observed that inter-institutional agreements would help their professional development; on the other hand, it is considered that funding is an important factor that generates motivation and tranquility, which ensures a greater production of research work. However, it is mentioned that inter-institutional cooperation agreements would help to know more about the field of research; nevertheless, it is indicated that there is little encouragement from the university for the publication of academic books; on the other hand, it is perceived that presentations at congresses would contribute to know new ideas, new trends and new methods for research. It is concluded that the university promotes scientific production, generating greater research expectations in teachers, but these actions are not enough for research to be concluded, published and disseminated.
