Water, in all its states, remains a key resource for the survival of all species on our planet, fulfilling the so-called water cycle. However, the stability of this cycle is threatened by the effects of human-induced climate change. To counteract its negative impacts, various research projects have been carried out to find solutions to specific water management problems. Another important element for the development of humanity is electric power, since it enables the fulfillment of daily activities related to education, health and commerce; therefore, the search for non-traditional energy alternatives for electricity supply provides opportunities that improve people's quality of life, transforming the economy and mitigating the effects of climate change. This research aims to determine how to take advantage of rainwater as a natural resource and how, through the use of photovoltaic panels, electrical energy can be saved in a sustainable manner. The data and results identified indicate that rainwater harvesting is a viable option, but it requires an initial investment of S/. 58,873.34 with a payback period of seventeen years. In addition, the installation of photovoltaic panels to reduce electricity consumption is also favorable with an investment of S/. 102,553.39 with a payback period of two years.
