This research study aimed to determine the relationship between knowledge and the preventive practice of the caregiver in pressure ulcers of the elderly in the Home Care Program (PADOMI), Hospital III EsSalud Iquitos 2019. The method was quantitative, not experimental design, descriptive, correlational. The sample size consisted of older adults, the instruments used were a questionnaire of the caregiver´s knowledge on pressure ulcers of the elderly and the questionnaire of preventive practice of the caregiver on pressure ulcers of the elderly whose validity was 92.34%, the results were: 73 (100.0%) of caregivers, 65.8% (48 caregivers) have average knowledge, 20.5% (15 caregivers) have low knowledge and 13.7% (10 caregivers) have high knowledge about pressure ulcers in older adults; 75.3% (55 caregivers), have adequate preventive practices with regard to pressure ulcers, and only 24.7% (18 caregivers) have inadequate preventive practices with respect to pressure ulcers. When relating knowledge and preventive practice of the caregiver in pressure ulcers of the elderly, it was found that there is a statistically significant relationship p<0.05.
