In the present study "Physical, Chemical and Bacteriological Evaluation of the waters of the Itaya river, lower area of Bethlehem - district of Bethlehem - Province of Maynas - Loreto Region" developed at the National University of the Peruvian Amazon, it is intended to determine the conditions in which the water resource, so important for the life and health of human beings, of the Itaya river is being used in the different domestic activities by the major populations in the area. The project is framed in the type of descriptive, comparative research, since two samplings are carried out, one at a time of rising (avenue) and the other at emptying (drought) and at six different points in the area in order to make a comparative study of the quality conditions in which they are determining the points of greatest risk for the population that uses it. Relatively significant results were obtained in the analyzes carried out at the Chemical Analysis Laboratory of UNAP, as in the case of the pH, which was slightly acidic, however high values and some very low dissolved oxygen values are observed in turbidity and color. The most outstanding results are the total and thermotolerant coliforms that are very high and that cause greater concern, so more attention should be paid to this problem to avoid consequences that can lead to health problems.
