The present work seeks to propose an improvement in the process of desalination of water for obtaining desalinated water in the company ENGIE SAC, this due to a water deficit presented in the year 2018 that forced the company to buy water from another plant for satisfy the demand. The first chapter describes the evolution of the generation of energy at a global, national and local level, as well as the problem, the general objective and the specific objectives of this thesis are established. The second chapter refers to the theoretical framework and the comparison between the different methods for the treatment of sea water that currently exist. In the third chapter Engie is described as the current organization, legal framework, vision, mission, values, company activity, organizational chart. The fourth chapter describes the current situation in which the company finds itself, as is its process of drinking water treatment and demineralized; the consumption of desalinated water, demineralized water and drinking water carried out in 2018 and the importance of the implementation of a new seawater treatment plant. Chapter 5 deals with the design of the proposal to improve the current process of seawater treatment through a technical and engineering study. In Chapter 6 the economic and financial evaluation of the proposal versus the current consumption is carried out, highlighting the economic viability of the project based on the costs incurred by external supply. In the seventh and last chapter the conclusions reached with the development of the proposal are presented. The general and specific objective of the thesis is answered and the respective recommendations for the production of water that satisfy Engie's demand are stated.
