From an anthropological point of view, the study of the teeth provides relevant information for determining the age of individuals at different stages of life. The analysis of the dentition is one way to assess the level of development of an individual. The validity increases considerably when calcification is used instead of tooth eruption since the tooth does not undergo the action of environmental elements such as gingival diseases, ankylosis, early loss, etc. The purpose of this study is to determine whether there is a correlation between chronological age and the dental age estimated by applying the method of Demirjian in adolescents 15 to 17 years old, IE Simon Bolivar, Moquegua 2014. We worked with a representative sample of the study population using the formula for the finite population or sampling frame being 184 adolescents. Intraoral periapical radiographic serial considered taking intraoral radiographic technique using parallel retroalveolar. Those who meet the required criteria were selected and proceeded to the interpretation and comparison using the Demirjian method through established tables which consider training through stages of dental tooth calcification processes in line with these parameters is that the dental age was calculated and it was compared with chronological age obtained. To relate ages statistical test used was Spearman Correlation sample that do not have normal distribution, chronological age can be predicted by the dental age using the method of Demirjian only to age 17 years in men with coefficient of determination of 15.6% Rho = -0395 p-value: 0.037 and age 15 for females with a determination coefficient of 36.36% Rho = 0.603 p-value: 0.000. In other age groups studied according to sex, no correlation was found between chronological age and dental age estimated by Demirjian. As they can not predict chronological age by dental age using this method.
