This research presents a descriptive and comparative analysis of internet use in men and women students of the school children of fourth and fifth grade of secondary of high school in La Perla (Callao). The purpose of this research was to determine the point of access, frequency, time online, instructor and proficiency in Internet use by gender. The research was also conducted find out the purpose of internet use in these areas: communication, information, education and entertainment. 66 students of both sexes were surveyed, and the major findings include the following data:: 76% of the students surveyed access the internet from cyber cafes, 52% use the internet every other day, and 39.4% say they learned how to use internet on their own. Regarding skill level, 89% are at the basic level. A significant differences was discovered for the male students. They play videogames on line. Finally, it was established that schoolchildren are characterized by the communicative use of the Internet.
