The present research work entitled PRACTICES IN THE CARE OF THE NEWBORN IN ADOLESCENT MOTHERS WHO COME TO THE HOSPITAL OF QUILLABAMBA, CUSCO - 2018, whose objective was to identify the practices in the care of the newborn in adolescent mothers who attend the Hospital of Quillabamba, Cusco - 2018; Being a descriptive study, the sample population consisted of 30 teenage mothers, the sampling was not probabilistic for convenience. The results were: 73.3% of adolescent mothers are 16 to 19 years old, 40% refer to incomplete secondary education, 50% are single and live together respectively, 40% have a student occupation, 46.7% come from urban areas, 93.3% have only one child, 43.3% depend economically on the spouse, 73.3% speak Spanish, 53.3% were eutócicos births, 83% gave birth to a term newborn according to the general characteristics of the newborns 33.4% have 15 to 21 days, 56.7% are male, 66.7% their birth weight was between 2500gr to 4000gr. Regarding the care practices in the newborn in the 51% link dimension, he had immediate contact after delivery, 93.4% reaction to crying tries to calm down, about the feeling of the arrival of the newborn 53.3% was happy, in the feeding dimension ; about breastfeeding 80% is offered only exclusive breastfeeding, 40% breastfeeds on demand, on technique 66.6% refers that the newborn makes sounds when breastfeeding, hand washing 53.3% always wash their hands, as for the body hygiene dimension; 50.0% daily bathes it, 76.7% uses warm water to bathe it, 83.3% the duration of the bath takes 5 minutes to bathe it, during the diaper change 76.7% uses wet wipes, regarding the dimension of hygiene in genital areas 63.4% Daily, 83.3% do the procedure of washing the genitals, in dimension to the hygiene of the umbilical cord 80.0% do it daily, 83.3% use soap and water in terms of the dimension of danger signals in the newborn 40% recognize jaundice, and 83.3% leads to the establishment of health in the face of an alarm sign, as for the dimensions of depositions 60% is done once a day and 83.3% yellow and finally the control dimension of Growth and Development is It has to 86.7% go weekly. In conclusion, it was obtained that 46.7% have a good practice, 33.3% regular and 20% bad.
