The objective of the study was to identify which indicators have the greatest discriminatory power; in the reliability of diagnostic tests for Leukemia in children at the Antonio Lorena Hospital, also identify the variables that have greater discriminatory power in committing classification error of healthy or sick or viceversa. The ROC curve is a visual technique to organize and select variables that have greater power of discrimination with the help of Area Under the ROC Curve (in its English acronym AUC); having used as an instrument the analysis of complete blood count with the 23 variables analyzed; arriving at the conclusion: Of the 23 variables that were analyzed, we were able to identify the indicators that result in having the greatest discriminatory power: White blood cell count (WBC) with a reliability of 65.2%, number of Neutrophils (Neu #) 68.8%, number of eosinophils (Eos #) 72.7%, number of Basophils (Bas #) 77.7%, Hemoglobin count (HGB) ) 65.2%, mean corpuscle volume (MCV) 73.4%, medium-form hemoglobin (MCH) 66.8%, standard deviation in the distribution of red blood cells (RDW-SD) 66.8%, platelet count (PLT) 62.5% and percentage of Basophils (Bas%) 80.9% and the indicators that allow to commit classification error are: percentage of Neutrophils (Neu%) with a reliability of 25.8%, percentage of Monocytes (Mon%) 28.5, percentage of eosinophils (Eos% ) 39.8%, number of Lymphocytes (Lym #) 17.2 and red blood cell count (RBC) 36.7%.
