For many centuries it was thought that intelligence was a single type, which is measured by IQ. Those with high IQ were able to solve problems through logic, analysis and reason. Today, with studios, which have resulted in a wealth of information regarding the role that emotions play in our daily lives and it is thus arises the concept of emotional intelligence to plot how essential these turn out to be, up to recently valued people in general for his IQ, but for a while emotional intelligence has been inserted into various aspects of daily life, as well as professional performance. This study is a descriptive and correlational study of an event which consists of two main aspects: emotional intelligence and performance pre-professional practitioners of nursing at the University Andina of Cusco that runs from the theoretical, training, development and control of emotions during practice; reaching methodological, psychometric properties, to the practical applications of emotional intelligence occupational. This research aimed to determine the relationship between emotional intelligence and pre-professional performance of nurse practitioners in hospitals: Antonio Lorena and Regional Cusco, because today's emotional intelligence is extremely important for the professional success is manifested by high levels of performance, using the skills, abilities, skills and emotional well-developed, reaching the capacity to feelings, control emotions, identify feelings and emotions of others, which is increasingly becoming more necessary pre-professional practice. A literature review was conducted to obtain information on the existing emotional intelligence on the application of emotional intelligence with respect to pre professional performance. We found that although there is much information about emotional intelligence and its applications to different areas, but there is relatively little correlation to professional performance of students doing pre-professional practice, they have a responsibility to provide a service health that is efficient and effective. Also in this investigation it was found the relationship between emotional intelligence and general pre-professional performance presented by nurse practitioners, and when analyzed by components of emotional intelligence, which are disclosed in the chapter results and the analysis, which has allowed to formulate conclusions.
