The present thesis entitled: “Comparative evaluation of the physical-mechanical properties of the adobe unit replacing straw with polypropylene fiber, compared to the adobe produced in the Saylla-Cusco district.“ Its main objective is to evaluate the physical mechanical properties of adobe, replacing straw with polypropylene sikacem fiber at 95%, 100% and 105% in relation to the weight of straw fiber, in order to obtain a final product of adobe more stabilized. The research methodology had a quantitative approach, a descriptive level with correlation implications, a hypothetical-deductive method and a quasi-experimental design, taking into account that the sampling method that was developed in the research was for convenience, since the sample elements were elaborated , where the population and the sample coincide, being a total of 96 units, 72 units of adobe with sikacem polypropylene fiber and 24 units of adobe from the Saylla district, with this it was sought to improve the physical and mechanical properties of the adobe units prepared in the Saylla district, through the use of technical standards such as NTP E-080, NTP E-070, NTP 399.613, NTP 339.604, NTP 339.078 and formats for the collection of data, field observation protocols, laboratory observation guides, then the physical properties tests such as dimensional variation, warping and testing were carried out of mechanical properties as a percentage of water absorption, accelerated Swin Burne erosion (SAET), compressive strength and flexural strength, these tests were carried out at 28 days in the materials laboratory of the Universidad Andina del Cusco. After carrying out the laboratory tests, it was obtained that the adobe units replaced straw with polypropylene fiber with 100% and 105% by weight, do not substantially improve the physicalmechanical properties of the adobe units. Concluding that the replacement straw by polypropylene fiber in percentage by weight with respect to the weight of straw, proposed is not decisive to improve the physical-mechanical properties of an adobe unit.
