ABSTRACT In the present work the proposal of improvement in the processes of Refurbishing of a metalworking company "Esco Perú SRL" is shown, dedicated to the elaboration of different components that are used in industrial applications such as Mining, Construction and Manufacturing, whose problem is based on the defective products obtained during and after the process; having as objective the reduction of the level of defects through the proposed improvement proposal. The study was conducted in the workshop facilities, through interviews and direct observation focusing on the recovery area for the identification of problems and defects in the processes of Refurbishing to avoid reprocessing or delays during these; then proceeded with the analysis, processing and measurement of the variables, followed by the identification of the processes, in order to propose improvements. The methodology used in the research was the PDCA cycle or continuous improvement (Plan, Do, Check, Act); based on planning, doing, verifying and acting. Likewise, within this cycle, three specific tools were used, such as: the 5S, Kanban and Jidoka methodology. The results obtained from the research that was carried out are in agreement with the previous studies, in addition, at the end of the investigation it is verified that with the proposal of improvement in the recovery processes of corners and blades, the level of defects was reduced; At the same time, it is recommended to implement the Deming cycle to a greater extent for all the components that are processed in the workshop.
