The pepper Capsicum spp, it is a native fruit that originated in the Peruvian Andes and in the jungles of Bolivia, formerly Upper Peru. Which is consumed directly as fresh vegetables or as a seasoning; and it is used in the pharmaceutical industry as a medicine, dye and other potential uses that are derived from capsaicin and oleoresins, which proves to be a resource of very wide range of use for its industrialization. As a result, the varieties of chili not exploited in their centers of origin offer great opportunities for the differentiation of high value products, which would lead to an adequate use and alleviation of poverty. For this reason, the National Institute of Agrarian Innovation (INIA) and the Agrarian University La Molina (UNALM) carried out collections at national level of this important genetic resource. The banks of chili germplasm obtained through these collections are necessary to characterize both agronomically, biochemically and molecularly, to be able to detect characteristics of agricultural or industrial interest. The molecular characterization carried out using molecular markers such as the AFLP and microsatellite (SSR), offers us a versatile tool with which a desirable characteristic such as pungency, solve taxonomic problems and elimination of duplicate accessions could be evaluated. Data that are basic to start a program of genetic improvement and guarantee the preservation of the diversity that this genre offers. Therefore, in this work we seek to collect information on the current state of the molecular characterizations of the National Collections of Ajíes Capsicum spp., By using molecular markers.
