ABSTRACT It is important that companies have a maintenance plan that includes planning, scheduling and fulfillment of tasks preserving their equipment and machines because they will allow these fulfill the function for which they have been acquired; In addition it will extend the useful life of these assets generating a saving to the company. This thesis proposes the implementation of a maintenance plan based on the RCM (Reliability Centered Maintenance) methodology with the aim of improving the availability of equipment that is directly related to the main activity of container warehouse of the company Terminales Portuarios Peruanos SAC. The proposed plan includes some of the RCM activities such as the determination of equipment failures, causes (failure modes), consequences on warehouse operations, health and the environment to establish the tasks of Maintenance and improvements in procedures and facilities to be eliminated or minimized. Improving the availability of critical equipment will be achieved by reducing unplanned downtime (failures), which will allow that operational targets are reached without disturbance.
