-- The qualified investigation: Adherence to the Treatment of Iron deficiency anemia in Children from 6 to 24 Months and Associate Factors M.I.H.C. “Tahuantinsuyo Bajo” 2010 was orientated to determine the adherence and the factors associated in the treatment of the children. The above mentioned study of quantitative nature is of applicative level, so the results of the same one, they will allow to the establishment of health, to elaborate strategies that favor the adherence to the treatment of iron deficiency anemia. The sampling rate used was probabilistic systematic sampling frame being children 6 to 24 months and the unit of analysis the 50 mothers who comprised the sample. For data collection was appealed to the structured interview type, for which a questionnaire instrument used, the same as previously was the subject of validation. At the end of the study has been possible to reach the following conclusions: Non-adherence is a condition seen in almost all children diagnosed with iron deficiency anemia in the H.C "Tahuantinsuyo Bajo", the meaning of non-compliance with medication and dietary regimes . The factors that have a statistically significant association are a) drug treatment side effects, a condition that was present in all children with constipation being the most common and that was the reason for discontinuation of treatment. b) Ignorance of the mother about the disease and treatment, appreciating this factor in more than half the population under study, which highlights the noncollection of anemia as a serious disease and the lack of treatment regimes. c) inappropriate care, factor in as many mothers that led to the lack of continuity of care. -- Key words: Iron deficiency anemia, Treatment, Adherence, associate Factors, breast-fed baby
