Abstract: Anemia is a common disorder caused by different factors; the research project is carried out with the general objective of determining the risk factors associated with anemia in children under 5, of the San Juan de Dios Health Center in Pisco, September - November of this year. The methodology used is correlational, cross-sectional and quantitative, the sample used was 20 cases and 40 controls, a survey of 20 closed questions was used, children aged 0 to 5 years and children under 5 years were included. The results show that within the dimension of the cultural factor with OR (6.66) mothers have no knowledge about iron-rich feeding and the biological factor with children with OR (5.57) who have parasites. The results of the study in relation to the data collected and, according to the case sample, most children with anemia They have no knowledge about foods that contain iron. They conclude according to statistical analysis that anemia is related to cultural and biological factors, which significantly influence cases of anemia. It is recommended to train mothers who come to the health center in healthy eating, deworming, consumption of nutritious foods and among others. Keywords: Anemia, risk factors, children.
